"Diane Toups Goyette has a remarkable background as an educator and trainer, and a keen passion for supporting adults in providing quality early childhood care and education. As a trainer, she prepares thoroughly, grounding her content in current research and standards-based practices while distilling and translating the information to make the presentation material easy to understand and apply. She models best-practice strategies, effortlessly engaging participants in interactive, activity-based, and multisensory approaches, using easily available and inexpensive props. Together, these elements are ideally suited for enabling participants to quickly understand how to take and apply the concepts and developmentally appropriate instructional activities to their daily work.
Her elegantly designed instruction is anchored in adult pedagogy, while her warm and professional manner and skillful structuring of the learning cultivates high levels of engagement. She displays a playful sense of fun, humor, and respect for what adult learners bring to the interaction. With her personable and articulate style, Diane readily establishes rapport and put participants at ease. She quickly establishes a safe learning environment supportive of participants’ moving out of their comfort zones as they participate in early childhood activities with abandon. I can think of no better way of helping adults appreciate how to structure activities for children’s joyous learning! Diane is a masterful educator and adept in preparing early childcare providers and teachers to create safe and effective learning environments, which embody the best of professional knowledge and practice."

EEPWORM BOOK REVIEWS
Here's what experts, teachers, reviewers, and parents have said:
Praise for My Friend EEPWORM
"It seems like the book speaks to you. As a child psychologist, I feel this book is so relevant to all children who I work with who have their own anxieties. It is a book that empowers one to look for ways to conquer their fears, anxieties and the very many irrational thoughts that can sometimes overpower the young minds. I must add that the book is as much relevant for adults as it is for children. It gives adults the courage to find their own way to deal with their challenges. At least that is what it did to me. It touches your heart. I would definitely recommend it for everybody out there."
- Shefali Thaman
Child Couselor "What a beautiful book for children who are having trouble communicating their emotions or those who need a bit more sensory play. I especially loved the notes to educators and parents at the beginning! Goyette does a great job helping a student feel comfortable with all the ways to use an eepworm or sensory tool!"
- Darcie J.
Educator "My Friend EEPWORM is a cute little book that talks about children with big feelings, and how a beloved toy (like an eepworm) can help
The book opens with tips for parents and teachers to help kids deal with difficult emotions, which was a great addition to the core book aimed at kids. It includes simple, helpful techniques to aid adults in helping kids in their lives deal with difficult feelings, including things you can explain to your child to make them feel less alone ("Managing feelings is hard, even for grown-ups") and techniques to help them cope ("Try rocking them, singing a soothing song, reducing sound or light levels.") . My Friend EEPWORM shows how a beloved toy can not only be a comfort when life is rough, but also a source of joy when things are going well. A book like this that explores how children can use the tools at their disposal to deal with their emotions can be a great tool for any family, but especially one that includes a child dealing with especially big and complicated feelings." - Zoe R.
Reviewer "This was a wonderful help for those with ADHD and similar conditions that require audio/sensory and visual cues.
My friend EEPWORM was a rhythmic book that was precise, concrete, and easy to read. This book addressed the need to feel comforted, safe, in a well structured environment that provides the guidance and love to be fully cognizant of one's surroundings while placing context on emotion and feelings that may be encountered when under stressful situations such as a school environment. EEPWORM as a sensory tool is exactly what Goyette has created and it works well in this framework with lovely illustrative visuals. Thank You to Corinne Goyette, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review." - Donna H.
Reviewer "This is such a great book with such an important message. Children’s feelings can be so hard for them to understand. We definitely need more books like this one."
- Samantha J.
Reviewer "EEPWORMS may just be my new favourite things! I was pleasantly surprised by this book both as a children’s story book and a potential Counselling resource for children with special needs. I absolutely love how cute the illustrations are and how simple the story is to read and follow. Appropriate for very young children and yet it still tugs at my own 23-year-old heartstrings. I will most definitely be recommending this to my counselling colleagues and library buddies"

"Corinne’s vision of supporting children with their big emotions is realized in this beautifully illustrated children’s book. Children who have a difficult time managing their emotions often feel alone, misunderstood, different, out of sorts or isolated. Corinne’s eepworms help these children feel safe by assuring them that they have someone (or something!) that will stick with them through thick and thin. What a comfort to little souls in distress!”
- Dr. Becky Bailey
Founder of Conscious Discipline "We bought Corinne’s beautiful book and Eepworm himself after our 5-year-old daughter saw them at church. Eepworm is by her side almost 24/7 now; she cuddles and talks to him, sleeps and eats with him, and makes him reflect her every emotion. She has memorized the book and recites it at will, and Eepworm makes regular appearances at her kindergarten show-and-tell. Her endorsement? 'There is nobody who can love eepworm better than me!' The toy is sturdy, fun, soft, and easily transported. We are so grateful to Corinne and her family for sharing their journey and eepworm with ours!"
- Marion Fernandez-Cueto
Parent "Sometimes feelings can be big, bigger than what a little child can hold. With the assistance of Eepworms, though, those big feelings don't have to be so overwhelming. I loved everything about this book. The words were encouraging and easy to read and the illustrations were done in a simple yet meaningful style. I was whispering "Yes!" to myself when I read the note to parents. Overall, I cannot praise this book enough. Not only will I purchase it for my classroom, knowing I'll find many occasions where it will be helpful, but I'll definitely be recommending it to parents and quoting it in my conversations with children and parents alike.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me my first of many copies of this delightful little book." - Sirah J.
Educator "Thank you to NetGalley and Early Childhood Specialties for providing me with a copy of My Friend EEPWORM in exchange for an honest review!
Ok, to be completely honest, I downloaded this book the second I saw its cover because it was just too cute to resist. I spent the next 10 minutes just repeating the word "eepworm" over and over again because it's just so fun to say. I ended up really liking the book, even though I got it without knowing anything about it. My Friend EEPWORM is a picture book about a little, squishy toy called an EEPWORM that will be with you through all your big emotions. It's targeted at children with sensory issues and children learning how to handle big emotions. The illustrations are super cute and use a lot of soft colors, which makes the book visually very comforting. I really appreciated this book for many reasons, the primary being I was one of the kids this book is targeted at. I would carry around a little stuffed animal to help me ground myself and stay calm when things got overwhelming in the face of my ASD and anxiety. It really worked, so I totally buy the whole concept of an EEPWORM friend. I believe the physical copy of the book comes with an EEPWORM toy, which is of course adorable. I also really appreciated the parent/guardian guide in the beginning. Too many adults don't know how to help the kids in their life when things get overwhelming, and I thought it was a good reminder that it's our responsibility to help them learn how to manage their own big feelings. I highly recommend My Friend EEPWORM!" - Athena J.
Reviewer "This is such a sweet book with such an important message! It is really important to help our children understand their feelings are valid and there will always be someone - or something- there to guide them through it. And My Friend EEPWORM is exactly that!"
- Mariana O.
Reviewer "Beautiful watercolor illustrations! I wasn't familiar with eepworms, but this was such a darling book and sounds like a brilliant way to help children through their feelings. Easy to follow along and short enough to not completely lose readers with short attention spans. It also provides plenty of opportunities for further dialogue about the discussed emotions if the child you are reading to is ready."

Praise for EEPWORM's Emotional Day
"Author Corinne Goyette gives back to everyone who believes in her. As Corinne gently and lovingly demonstrates, Big Emotions don't have to overwhelm us. Big Emotions can inform and remind us we have choices. We can love or we can hurt. In choosing love, Eepworm heals ruptures within Eepworm and with his friend, Blue. Each of us can embrace our troubles and transform those troubles into compassion. Corinne lovingly shares hard-won tools she has learned as an otherwise able person."
- Holly Elissa Bruno, MA, JD
Best selling award winning author former Maine Assistant Attorney General "I can honestly say the book is good for several reasons: The content is based on social/emotional learning - very much needed these days, even before COVID-19. The beginning page, For Parents and Teachers is excellent - Emotions vocabulary is very much needed and nicely presented. Illustrations are excellent - Colors are connected to emotions and are calm colors. Rhyming lends to building a dialogue about rhyming and facilitates phonemic awareness. The story ends with forgiveness...that can be built upon as well."
- Robin Rettie
Founder & Owner of Lighthouse Learning Resource "Eepworm's Emotional Day is a fun, brightly colored educational read. It shows students how emotions work and the consequences they can have if displayed a certain way."
"I loved how simple this book was. It's easy for the younger children to follow along. The pages were beautifully illustrated. As a substitute teacher, I recommend this book for each classroom." - Danielle Urban

"Every parent or teacher can relate to a fun time with children turning sour when the fun needs to end. Corinne Goyette's book lets a child enter into the adorable Eepworm's super exciting day of fun with a friend, only to have strong negative emotions almost ruin the day! Helpful tips within the book allow your child or student to stop, take a break and handle emotions successfully. A must have on any teacher, parent or school counselor's shelf."
- Lisa Stuckey, M.Ed.
School Counselor "What a lovely find this was! The story is simple and sweet. It was a wonderful way to open up a conversation with my daughter, who also has difficulty with the size and scope of her emotions when it comes time for the fun to end. We used her eepworm to talk about her feelings and how they can feel overwhelming, and to demonstrate how easy it is to lash out when we don't know what else to do. It led to an interesting conversation - I doubt all of our challenges with ending playdates and big emotions are resolved, obviously, but it was a great start!"
- Jill Franclemont
Reviewer & Blogger "I love the book, especially the illustrations - they are so beautiful! The story is easy to follow, filled with realistic emotions and reactions. I really like your insert at the beginning where you guide the adult on how to best use the book to point out and discuss the various emotions expressed throughout the story. Great job Corinne!"
- Debbie Elder
Best-selling author, innovative education expert Owner of Shady Oak Primary School "I had heard of eepworms but until recently I had never met one. Lately I had the pleasure of meeting a yellow eepworm and the opportunity to read both My Friend Eepworm and Eepworm's Emotional Day.
The author has very helpfully included a section at the beginning for parents and teachers -- Things to Discuss as You Read. So if you're not a natural at discussions about emotions, the tips presented here should start the ball rolling. The watercolor illustrations by Goyette are charming and accessible, and add interest and color to the story. The format of the pages is varied and interesting -- on some pages there are several smaller illustrations, while others feature double-page spreads. Both books are charming, and thank you for the eepworm friend!" - Cynthia Reid
