Our MissionAdults who teach and care for children have incredibly important and challenging jobs. If they don't feel supported and have the knowledge and skills they need, they can't do their best work. That leads to burnout for themselves and poor outcomes for their children. We provide expert compassionate support along with the information and skillsets needed for adults to become more competent and confident. When adults feel supported in their work, they thrive and so do their children. |
We specialize in social emotional learning and guiding children with challenging behavior!

Child Development Specialist, Trainer, Consultant & Speaker |
My Bio
I am a Child Development Specialist, a Master Registered Level Trainer, and a Child Care Health Consultant. I hold a master’s degree in Child Development and a Lifetime Texas Educator Certificate for Pre-K and Kindergarten.
In my 35 years in early childhood education, I have taught children in various settings including child care, preschool, and kindergarten, and I have served as an adjunct professor at two universities. Through ECS I've developed and presented hundreds of hours of profession development for thousands of early childhood educators. I am a frequent presenter and keynoter at local, state, regional, national and international conferences.
In addition to keynotes and conference sessions, I offer training, consulting and coaching to early childhood professionals, as well as children's presentations and products that support self-regulation and build resilience.
In my presentations for adults, I emphasize the important role of relationships in children’s lives, how to foster all children’s social and emotional development, and ways to support children with challenging behaviors. My signature offerings here at ECS are centered around my own framework, "The 4 C's Framework of Emotional Support", based on the work of experts in child development, psychology and psychiatry and researchers in brain development.
I also partner with my adult daughter Corinne to provide presentations with her unique insights into challenging behavior as a neurodivergent individual.

I have two unique things to offer:
My Own Framework of Emotional SupportBecause I'm especially passionate about supporting both adults' and children's social-emotional learning and development, I've developed a framework that I call "The 4 C's of Emotional Support." I created this model, based on the work of several experts in ECE and related fields, to help educators more easily remember and implement strategies that support children's emotional needs. These strategies help build adults' emotional intelligence as well!

My Daughter's Perspective of her own Challenging Behavior as a ChildI provide presentations with my adult daughter, Corinne, an artist, author and illustrator of children's picture books and an advocate for individuals with mental health special needs like herself. Corinne is able to effectively articulate how it felt to be a child struggling with self-regulation, so she contributes a critical perspective that helps participants understand and empathize with children with behavioral issues. Corinne has had such an impact on early childhood educators that she has moved some to tears!
